Weather records are usually updated the next day after an event.
Kansas City snowfall records since 1961
Before 1971 the snow was measured at the downtown airport and after that
it's done at KCI.
The earliest recorded snow was by William Paxton in Platte City where on September 23, 1895 he reported a blizzard.
